Recently I received a Polymer Banknotes CD catalogue from Thomas Krause. This catalogue is produced by Peter Bauer and Thomas Krause
both of Germany. This is the 4th edition of the catalogue released on 1/4/2008. The first edition was issued in November 2004. In
addition to producing such a wonderful catalogue, both Peter and Thomas are also avid polymer banknotes collectors. Needless to say,
they spent considerable of their free time into the research and studying of polymer banknotes.
This is indeed an excellent catalogue for those who are interested in polymer banknote collectors regardless of whether you are an
expert or a new comer to this interesting hobby. The CD catalogue comes with details of all polymer banknotes issued since the early
80s, including those printed by various printers for the purpose of promoting the technology. The CD also briefly touched on the
history of polymer banknotes, its security features adopted and more importantly it also highlighted those fake polymer notes
available in the market (let the buyers beware!). In addition to this, it also provides details of variation signatures, year
issued, letter prefix (like Australia first and last) which you will never find in the Standard Catalogue of World Banknotes.
One thing I find it useful is that it also provides a guide to market value of the note which is definitely an added advantage
to those who may be interested in picking up this wonderful hobby. My assessement on the catalogue is that the authors have spent
a fairly in-depth research on the existence of polymer notes both notes issued and printed by various companies since the 1970s.
Whilst this comes in a CD format, you can always have a hard copy printed out for your own references. In all there are 311 pages
in pdf formate. In you are interested to getting a copy of the CD Catalogue or for any enquires, please contact Thomas Krause at
thomas.krause @ polymernotes.de or by clicking here. I would recommend for those who are interested in this hobby to get one for
their references.

Ausgabe Juni 2008 / Seite 46 / Sammlerliteratur
Konkordanzen zum Katalog World Paper Money gedacht.
